In the past, the old cable management solutions, such as "Embed Floor Trucking", "Power Pole", "Flat Cable", and etc., are not capable to handle the sharply increasing amounts of cables in the offices. Large and intensive amounts of data and power wires flow into the office due to internet and intranet booming. The Conventional Raised Access Floors (CRF) have been quickly stretched it's application to the offices in order to "cover" the large amounts of cables. When CRF using for cables management applications, on-floor "Cable Trunk" shall be installed under the RF to manage the cables.
To summarize, CRF is basically as a "cover" to the cables, not "manage".
NETFLOOR Low-Profile cable “management” access floor systems could effectively meet high demands of openings for cable extension or to fix outlet service boxes as a connection to desk-tops or workstations.
Our Low-Profile systems floor height from 40 mm (1.57”) to 100 mm (4”), and focus on 40mm (1.57"), 50mm (2"), 60mm (2.36"), 76-100 mm (3"-4") height, aims to conserve the ceiling height and maximize floor-ceiling clearance for workspace for both new building and for office renovation applications.
Although in low height, the systems do not sacrifice the cable capacity. Cables are distributing through the fully accessible cable trenches and protected by steel trench caps.
The Conventional Raised Access Floors (CRF) are unable or unsuitable to install at Low-Profile and provide less capacity.
Please refer to Appendix 1: Superior space available of Low-Profile systems
Netfloor Low-Profile floor system owns the following advantages and benefits compare to the convention raised access floors, absolutely a better solution for office environment.
There are two types of Cable Management Floor Systems:
ECO series can absorb the uneven sub-floors to certain level, which UniPanel (main panel) are made of 16 sub-panels. The sub-panels are structurally independent but united as one UniPanel by 2 mm (0.07") thick joints at top. When installed, the sub-panels are able to absorb the floor uneven substantially.
But when installing ECO below 60 mm (2.36") height, it is not feasible to install access floor at leveling because the floor deviation often more than 30 mm (1.18"), or even up to 50mm (2").
The systems have pedestals, which are height adjustable, and changeable for finish floor height at 40 mm (1.57") up to 150 mm (6"). When installing at height 40 mm (1.57")~ 76 mm (3"), the systems shall be installed by follow the floor contour. When installing at height 76 ~ 150 mm (3"-6"), the leveling installation can be achieved.
Same as other Low-Profile Cable Management Floors, Netfloor is easily or automatically categorized as "Access Floor", partially is right, but not totally correct.
So, we may set standards by consulting the conventional access floors but not necessarily exactly the same:
Requirements of loading property on Netfloor Systems Low-Profile systems shall not be necessary to be same criteria applied on conventional access floors, which are made to accept extra heavy or heavy equipments and/or facilities in the control rooms or manufacturing factories. All Netfloor systems conform to the loading property required for using in the offices and schools.
Netfloor low-profile access floor systems Camass, CamassCrete, ECO systems,
are not part of the grounding electrode system and no need grounding to the system.
They are not a metal frame of the building (structural metal) which may intentionally grounded.
For all wiring, service boxes running in the Netfloor system, the electrician shall do the
grounding conform to the applicable sections in accordance with NEC article 100 and/or local code.
